Here's a short description of what each of these AppleScripts do:
Minimal Views: Double-click this script to set the Finder's views to minimal, so that the Finder windows show only the name of each file. This is very handy for FileSharing over AppleTalk or ARA, because it will make the windows display information much faster. Instead of opening the Views Control Panel and clicking a bunch of checkboxes, this script does it all with a double-click.
Maximum Views: Double-click this script to restore the Finder's views back to normal, so that the Name, Date, Size and Kind of each file appear in Finder windows. Since different Mac users like to see different things in their views, you can easily customize this script to set precisely the views you want.
Note Pad & Stickies Saver: This is an example of a simple backup program you can use. Just drop this AppleScript into your "Shutdown Items" folder, and it will automatically create backup copies of your Note Pad File and Stickies file. This is a good precaution for users who use the Note Pad or Stickies for important information, just in case something is accidentally erased or corrupted. It only makes a backup if the file's been changed. This is another easy-to-customize script which you can modify to backup just about anything you want.
Get Type & Creator: Drop any file or application onto this program to see its "Type" and "Creator" codes.
Volume to Three: Double-click this script to quickly change your Mac's volume to 3. You can easily customize this script to set the volume to any level.
TEXT-to-ttro: If you ever make "ReadMe" files with SimpleText or TeachText, you need this! Drop a SimpleText file onto this script, and it's automatically converted into a "ttro" (TeachText Read-Only) file, with the cool Newspaper icon. Drop it on this script again, and it's back to becoming an editable TeachText "Text" file. This is another great example script you can customize to work with your files.
16 Colors: Double-clicking this script will very quickly set your monitor to display 16 Colors.
256 Colors: Double-clicking this script will very quickly set your monitor to display 256 Colors. This script can easily be changed to set your monitor to black and white, 16-colors, 32,000 colors, or 16 Million colors.
FileConverter: FileConverter has its own ReadMe file. Put simply, FileConverter lets you change the Creator code of Text, Pict and QuickTime movie files so that double-clicking the file opens it with the application of your choice. For instance, if you always want to open QuickTime movies with the Movie Player, you double-click FileConverter, click on "Movie" and select the Movie Player from the dialog box which will appears. Once you configure FileConverter in this way, you can drag any Movie file onto FileConverter, and it will change that file so that double-clicking it opens the file in Movie Player.
